With the MEDC17 Bench/Boot software package, you can now program a wide range of BOSCH MEDC17 controllers directly from the ECU connector without opening the unit. You'll never damage a BOSCH MEDC17 ECU again: first, because you no longer need to open it; second, because you no longer need to solder or use a bench to connect to it.
