Have you ever replaced a faulty component and the check engine light on the instrument panel remained on?
Sometimes a vehicle runs perfectly, but a persistent trouble code (DTC) cannot be cleared with conventional diagnostic tools.
At Digi-Tec, we offer an advanced software service to permanently remove these specific errors from your programming, but be careful! This isn't always advisable. Depending on the error code, you shouldn't remove it, as this could cause serious problems later. Consult us first, and we'll advise you.

What is a DTC and why does it sometimes not clear?
A DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is an alphanumeric code (e.g., P0420, P2002) that the engine control unit (ECU) records when it detects a fault in a sensor or system of the vehicle.
Normally, the code can be cleared after the fault is repaired. However, there are situations in which the error becomes permanent due to software reasons:
• After a System Override: This is the most common case. If a component (DPF, EGR, butterfly valves, etc.) has been physically removed, the ECU will continue to generate an error due to its absence.
• "Phantom" Failure: Occasionally, a software error or a sensitive sensor may generate a recurring DTC even though there is no actual mechanical fault.
• Component Incompatibility: When installing non-original parts or performing complex modifications (swaps), permanent error codes may appear.
The Solution: Selective DTC Removal from Software
Our service isn't just a simple "fault erase." It involves modifying the ECU programming to tell it to ignore a specific fault code forever.
This means that:
• The selected error will not appear again nor will the fault indicator light come on.
• The rest of the vehicle's diagnostic system will continue to function perfectly , so the control unit will easily alert you if any other real fault occurs in the future.
Common Use Cases for DTC Removal
-
Complement to the cancellation of systems such as DPF, EGR, AdBlue, GPF or intake valves.
-
Competition vehicles in which non-essential sensors or systems have been removed.
-
Solution to persistent "phantom" failures that have been diagnosed as non-harmful.
-
Adaptation of components in engine modification or swap projects.
Important Warning
This service does not repair mechanical failures. Its purpose is to resolve software conflicts or complement an existing physical modification. Hiding a fault code for a real mechanical problem without addressing it can cause serious damage to the engine or other components.
We rely on professional diagnosis to request this service responsibly.
